You don't have to visit Robben Island to appreciate the museum . If you do want to take a boat tour , then book early in high season as they are often fully booked for days.
I had to change my trip plans to visit robben island .. I highly recommend booking earlier .. They are usually full for days
Take the Early Ferry as later ones can be delayed and add an hour or more onto this trip
It was good to visit the prison of nelson mandela but it was alot of talking rather than sight seeing, 5/10
Worth a visit. Book early because it's always full.
Go to www.webtickets.co.za for online bookings . Its very important to book early as boats fill up quickly!

All of the tour guides are former political prisoners; very cool! Be sure to buy tickets well in advance online (I bought mine before I even arrived in Cape Town). Tour takes 4 hours with return. - Nate S
Book in advance because they are sold out several days upfront. No chance if you come spontaneously - Tobias Weißenfels
It's a nice mall by the waterfront. Worth going to if you're looking for good seafood at Willoughby & Co. Don't stress going otherwise. There are other great things to do by the waterfront. - Yuri Ramocan
