Since the city is built onto 2 cliffs on either side of the river , this Eiffel Tower-style bridge is a defining feature and a must see. Itself very cool, the view over the city also incredible.

Paris has the Eiffel tower we have D. Luís bridge . Contemplate this wonder of engineering from the XIX century from Gaia side and cross the upper deck to see a wonderfull view of Porto .

A project of the engineer Teófilo Seyrig, the "Luis I" Bridge was inaugurated on 31st October 1886. The bridge is built of two metal trays supported by a great iron arch and five piers with span 391m.

If you think it looks like the Eiffel Tower , there’s a good reason for it. Cross the bridge at the top for a great panorama of both sides of the river .

This is a must when you are in Porto. It has two layers. One is up to the top you can go and walk of which I did not but the one close to the river I walked many times. Lovely sights of the city .

Walk across the top level from Porto, cable car down, back along past the port peddlers tasting their wares, walk over the lower level the funicular up the hill . Ace.

Incredible view from the top of the bridge . You can walk through it and visit the other side of the river . Don’t miss this experience.

Fantastic walk offering exceptional scenery

It is a normal bridge with a nice view on one of its sides (the upper one, not the one on ground level). Worth going and checking it but definitely not incredible as some people say.

Impressive, the location in the valley and the fact that you can walk over it at the bottom as well as at the top. Not just a tourist magnet.

The best spot in Porto. You can take a pic an amazing river sight. Be careful when you try to take a pic, because there is an underground on the bridge (Interesting!)

It's a double decked bridge , so make sure you make it to the top, provides a wonderful view on top of Porto.

On the right side of the bridge (Porto) there are the pillars of the previous bridge (1843).

Officially the bridge don't have the "Dom" at the name. There's a rumour that the king didn't appear to the inauguration and the people takes off the "Dom" and the name passed to "Ponte Luiz I".
